I used to hear about underground shelters when I was younger. I guess it had to do with the Cold War or something. I was young and didn't think about it too much, but I do remember they were a fairly common topic. I think it was assumed that the U.S.A and Russia would most likely launch some kind of nuclear war with one another or something.
Anyway apparently there is new wave of Doomsday Shelters gaining popular according to an ABC news video. It claims they are selling space in these shelters at alarming rates. They are kind of interesting and much more fancy than the ones from the Cold War era. I guess they are sort of upgrading or modernizing them.
The news video is a bit long around 7 mins, but kind of interesting to see what they look like, where they are being built, etc.
If interested have a peek at it here:

Top Secret - Condition of Anonymity
Every time I read the news I see the all too familiar phrase "condition of anonymity". Is it just me or is this just the normal expected thing these days. I don't remember seeing it so much a number of years ago, if at all.
Oftentimes when I do see this phrase in a news article or story it seems to be frequently attached to someone of importance. I really don't get this line of news reporting or how it is allowed sometimes. Someone can tell a news agency anything they want as long as there is a "condition of anonymity" without getting into trouble or what?
Seems to me some of what I have read the information or story they are giving the press can sometimes be important, private, and some times borderline top-secret. Maybe even classified information at times. I don't know for sure. I am no expert when it comes to most of the information contained in an article or anything. It just seems like as long as you toss in the "condition of anonymity" then you can tell the press something that you otherwise wouldn't.
I guess it just doesn't make sense to me in some high profile or important cases and scenarios.
Oh well what do I know.
Facebook Popularity
I know Facebook is one of the most popular sites around right now. I honestly do not know why it continues to be so popular. I guess partly because it's simple layout and ease of use. Other than that possibly because there are so many users on Facebook, it is likely that you can find old friends, classmates, or whatever.
I am really not tuned into it or addicted to it like many people seem to be. I don't see the point of logging into Facebook daily or several times a day. If I am lucky at best 1-2 per week, but usually less is more than enough for me.
Each time I login to the site it really is pretty much the same thing just a new day. Everyone is rambling on about nothing, a few pictures get posted from time to time. Nothing that exciting to worry about on a daily basis.
The major issue I dislike about Facebook is all the applications that automatically post things. Which would be like all the game scores and stats. Horoscopes, Bible verses, trivia, etc. The list goes on and on.
I really do not care about everyone's stats for every little thing in the world. Not only is this totally annoying, it clutters up the entire Facebook main page after login.
I guess it's a younger generation or crowd thing, or stay at home moms that have nothing better to do all day or something. I just don't get all this. I almost consider it spam.
I am not totally against Facebook. I just don't think it's as great as everyone makes it out to be. Not to mention the privacy issues they have had lately, but that is another story.
