I would assume everyone has heard that Gary Coleman died. Too bad he was only 42. I think it was a brain hemorrhage or something to do with his brain anyway.
I vaguely remember watching him in the classic Different Strokes series on TV when I was little. Wikipedia says the show aired from November 3, 1978 to May 4, 1985. So it was on for a number of years, but man that was a long time ago.
I sure hope he figured out what everyone was talking about, like Willis and Mr. D. That's what I remember him saying all the time. "What you talking about Mr. D?" and "What you talking about Willis?"
Gary Coleman Dies At Age 42
Farewell to Simon Cowell
I'll admit I've never been a huge American Idol fan. I could live with or without it. I do catch a few episodes each season, and tend to tune into the finale.
Since I didn't watch the entire season I can't say that it was the worst year, but it in my opinion it wasn't the best. In the early stages of this season I have to say I wasn't impressed and even board at times. The singers or contestants seemed less than talented at best.
Now keeping in mind I don't watch every single episode I will say that without Simon Cowell I would have lost interest much sooner. I most likely wouldn't have even watched this season at all.
There is just something about Simon that makes American Idol interesting. I guess I just want to see what he will say next. His goofy comments, body language, and classic eye rolls are what keeps me returning.
Without Simon I don't think the show will do very well from here on out. The only way it would continue to do well is if they manage to find someone to take his place that can really pull off interesting comments and remarks. Just who can actually fill his shoes I don't know. It will be a tough job to come up with someone that can really deliver.
Hopefully the producers of American Idol make the right choice. It will be interesting to see who they finally select as Simon's replacement. I will tune in for a few of the auditions and the premier. I have to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I already have doubts that the show will last much longer.
Pac Man 30 Years Old
I knew Pac Man was old, but I didn't realize I am actually a little bit older. Ouch! That hurts Pac Man.
It's funny after all these years such a simple idea still continues to be popular to this day. Who would have thought. Back then we didn't have all this fancy complex and complicated programming that we have today. I forget exactly how big the programming code is for Pac Man, but not much compared to today's standards. A drop in a bucket really.
Still it was really cool in the day. I know I dropped more than a few quarters in this classic arcade game.
When I was little there was also a Pac Man cartoon that was popular for sometime.
Then of course along came Ms. Pac Man, followed by Jr. Pac Man. Even a Super Pac Man if I remember right.
None of these would probably be very exciting to this generation of gamers, but when it was one of the few games available it was cool and exciting.
Happy 30th Birthday Pac Man!
